Human Capital Research Corporation (HCRC), an Evanston based research consultancy specializing in higher education enrollment, finance and market development is seeking individuals with outstanding quantitative and creative talents to join our group of analyst-consultants. Professional staff at HCRC work in a team setting in close collaboration with institutional clients on a wide variety of applied research and policy related projects. As a Research Analyst you will be responsible for executing significant analytic projects under the supervision of senior staff.

Position Responsibilities

  • Developing and conditioning large scale datasets
  • Developing predictive models and understanding their actionable applications
  • Creating graphic displays of data for clients
  • Working in a dynamic environment under aggressive timelines
  • Delivering and presenting findings to higher education professionals

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Passion for working with data and producing accurate and thorough reports
  • Experience with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) in a professional or graduate level setting
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including strong Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Inquisitive and motivated; shows personal initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with team members and clients
  • Experience working in higher education administration or research a plus

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative subject such as statistics, economics, applied mathematics or a social science/policy field with a solid background in quantitative methods is required. Recent graduates should have an impressive academic record and strong internship history./

Human Capital Research Corporation (HCRC) is seeking a creative and experienced software engineer to support the development and implementation of the next generation of HCRC’s analytic support infrastructure.

Working in close collaboration with senior staff, the incumbent will have shared responsibilities concerning virtually all aspects of our corporation’s technology platform including:

Application Development using Agile Development / Extreme Programming methodologies
Database design, deployment, integration, and maintenance
Client collaboration environments including SharePoint
Improving the productivity of HCRC’s data analysis and data visualization capabilities

The incumbent will serve as a key liaison between HCRC’s research-consultant teams and the firm’s IT staff, with responsibility to help specify and build our information system environment to support HCRC’s applied research and policy development efforts. The incumbent will also have secondary responsibilities related to the on-going maintenance and advancement of HCRC’s IT infrastructure.

Minimum Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of related hands-on professional experience including system design, database administration, application development, business analysis and network maintenance
  • Working knowledge/experience with C#, .Net, SQL, ASP, OOP or similar programming resources
  • Working knowledge/experience with IIS, AD, and similar web deployment and integration protocols/frameworks
  • Working knowledge of the SDLC
  • Preferred certification in MS and/or PMI

The candidate should have outstanding analytic and problem solving abilities with strong written and oral communication skills.
