CAREERS: DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL OPERATIONS

Human Capital Research Corporation (HCRC), a higher education research consultancy, is seeking a full-time Director of Financial Operations to grow the strategic financial planning of HCRC and oversee all accounting functions and business operations related to the company. With 45 employees, a bicoastal staff, and over 130 clients across the U.S., we are seeking an individual who can keep up with the pace of our growth. As a member of the firm’s leadership team, this individual would work in close concert with the Associate Business Manager, President, and Executive Team.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Track cash flow, analyze the company's financial wellbeing

  • Provide weekly dashboard reports detailing budgeting forecasting

  • Manage accounting procedures, including maintaining and balancing the general ledger

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

  • Perform payroll functions and related tax compliance

  • Lead employee onboarding, benefits administration and implementation

  • Execute all client contracts, track engagement progress and oversee contract renewal

  • Maintain and develop partner/vendor/supplier relations

  • Oversee monthly company finance reconciliation in QuickBooks

  • Interpret and apply best practice accounting standards


Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

 

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting with QuickBooks

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger

  • Human resources, contract management and benefits administration experience

  • Strong time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills with ability to thrive under aggressive timelines

  • High professional standards regarding internal customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to exercise discretion

  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Full proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

Experience and Education:

  • BSc / BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, or another applicable major, CPA

  • 7+ years prior applied professional experience in kindred field

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with knowledge, capabilities and professional experience.  Compensation includes health insurance, employer contribution retirement plan, paid vacation and flexible spending accounts among other benefits.
